  I wonder when the weight of the evidence (changes in doctrine, reports of pedophiles, court cases, news reports) piled onto the underground diggings (the magnitude that cannot be seen: taking K Hall titles, using money for retirement homes, having people donate their whole life existence in wills to the "Society", shunning people into shame) will finally cave in (the system collapses) and all will 'be brought to light'?

  if you had to pinpoint the time or experience that finally made you open your eyes, what would it be?.

  i think for me it was the time i saw my dad shun his brother who he had not seen in decades just because he was a da'ed jw.

  i thought to my self "no way jesus would do that.

  Me personally? I hear them talking about the flood of Noah's day (when Jesus said, "Just as in the days of Noah") and the 120 years of preaching that Noah did....

  I think that if all this insanity of "overlapping" doesn't work out (or, even to support/ reinforce it) they will say something like: "Jesus 'evidently' meant to give us a clue when he mentioned Noah and the preaching' and that will mean this 'last generation' could last until .... 1914 + 120 = 2034! So keep preaching, like Noah did!

  Me? I have always tried to enjoy life, love people, make memories... but, of course, life in the WT world limits you.... However, after reading so many experiences from people NOT JW's (scientologists, baptists, other cults, no cults, alcoholics, drug addicts, and on and on) it seems as tho each person is born into a circumstance... a family with beliefs and customs.

  Each child must grow up, figure it out and either accept or reject "his reality." I picture myself as an American Indian... Think of all the weird customs, beliefs and things you may have had to grow up with (not alllllll American Indians... ) But picture yourself dancing around a fire, with a skirt of type, feathers, spear, etc.... drums pounding... It really does not make a lot of sense in the 'real' world. They didn't scare off evil spirits, or cure people with their chants, but MAYBE the family had great bonds. Maybe the children were close to their parents, became close to all in their village, felt happy.

  I ran into an art teacher I use to work with the other day, we both were having our cars tuned up, and I spoke with her for a while. I told her my story of being and leaving Jehovah's Witnesses... a 'cult'.... so that she could help kids in school to reason, help them with their struggles... Guess what? This educated person told me that she too had been in a cult in her 20's and the only reason she got out, realized it was a cult, was because the leader died. Some in her group started following Armstrong.

  My point is, I could have been born into many different families. Each child must grow up, learn, and decide what to do with their life. All of us. I decided to make the most of what I have. I do not like what the WT has done, what it has stolen (family and friends) but I really do try to focus on enjoying what is going on each day, each minute.

  Death? Well, sometimes I think of it.... Like my cats... I have had many, they are gone, I remember them, but there is nothing more I can do but enjoy the ones I have left. One day I too will be gone, maybe no one will remember me. That is kind of weird...... So many people in the past are gone, and that's one thing I wanted to do in the new order, meet EVERY one who had ever lived, ask them about their lives, find out what REALLY happened in history. Now? I can't. But I try to make people feel good, and appreciated, and valuable. I love the look in their eyes.

  I could have been born into many circumstances, but I am here now, and will fight to make the most of it. WT will not take that from me!

  Being lied to by parents

  i mean pretty much all parents lie to their children at some point about something and usually it was to protect them or just wasn't something important and it normally doesn't affect the relationship between them and their child.

  but how does a person reconcile and recover their appreciation for their parents after finding out almost everything they taught them was an evil lie?

  i don't mean going back to the same relationship as i know that is gone, especially if the parents are still deceived.

  Lying.... You pretty much have to know "the truth" to lie, right?

  I mean, if you did not know that the earth was round, and everyone alive and around you believed and taught you that the earth was flat, and you told your kids the same thing that you had learned and truly thought was real.... is that a lie?

  Yes, it is not reality, it is not true.

  However, knowing that the earth is round, and then telling the child that the earth is flat, that is definitely a 'lie'.

  the cobe of the local kingdom hall never paid my ex-wife for the work done because they promised they would use "trade" to reimburse close to $5000 worth of work.

  as you can imagine nobody here would like him because he believes all the pedophiles can change their ways after the child sex offenders have proved their humility by bowing before the judicial committees.

  this is how honest jehovah's witnesses are, they changed her work from a 1200 sq.

  Dear Phil.......

  It is hard, it is crazy, it is real.... The same type of thing has happened to many people. Don't get yourself in worse circumstances by doing something rash. It may seem like the best, but if it ends up hurting your family emotionally (it didn't work, you get attacked/ disappointed) or monetarily (you get sued for liable)

  If these people are such deceivers, then they know how to work the system.

  Don't call Bethel, you will get NO help. That is the sad realization you will come to. In fact, you may even become the focus of an "internal investigation." We have seen behind the scenes, read the court cases where WT lawyers say one thing here, another thing there, and have no morals as to "righteousness." You will be hurt even more.

  Spend your time developing your family bonds, life and connections. These are the things that will endure.

  jesus was a jew who apparently thought he was the messiah, however, after dying, his disciples began to propagate the lie that he would return from heaven during his generation.

  but, his generation passed away, and it was clear that it was a false prophecy, then a dishonest christian wrote the second letter of peter so as to condemn those who realised that the prophecy was a fiasco.

  interestingly, and sadly, this religion survived,....why????

  Really, it is sad how religion has used people, and deceived them....

  If you were God, why make a book that everyone MUST figure out, that is HARD to figure out, and then get MAD at your 'kids' for not 'figuring it out'?

  If it were really that important, it should be simple and easy.

  That would be true love.

  i am sure this has been discussed many times so a link to another thread would be great or if someone has the patience to explain again please?

  i have read the july 15 2013 wt many times but i simply don't understand the significance of 1919 from the bible.

  1919 was a convenient date that was able to be used by the WT numerologists to prove that they absolutely were the "faithful and discreet slave." They simply took advantage of different events "Wow we had conventions everywhere, that relates to the book of Revelation ..." (the trumpets, or something) (I don't want to remember how this morning) and the 3 and a half years, and the "sometimes years are literal, sometimes they are symbolic" and "a short time means this" ....... Have I blown your brain yet? Perfect WT style, right? The higher ups were released from prison after 'a short time'.... in 1919.

  Without 1919, or ANY kind of ANYthing..... they have no authority....

  This is the mental shell game the WT has been playing for years. ;-)

  i am one of those viet nam war felons who had to refuse community service in lieu of military induction per direct instructions of wbts.
